Live Moss for Vivariums & Bioactive Setups

Live moss earns its place in a vivarium beyond decoration. As it holds moisture, it helps buffer humidity swings between mistings, and in a bioactive setup it gives isopods and springtails somewhere to shelter and graze while they work through the substrate.

Our moss is grown and hand-selected with no pesticides, fertiliser or added chemicals — important in an enclosure where anything on the moss ends up in contact with your animal.

Before you add it

  • Rinse gently in dechlorinated water before placing, and let it settle for a few days before introducing sensitive species.
  • Cushion moss holds its shape well on cork bark or elevated hides; feather moss spreads naturally across substrate.
  • Keep it out of direct basking-lamp heat — treat it like any other plant in the enclosure and give it its own shaded, humid zone.
