UK WOODLAND FEATHER MOSS 🌿

Gathered from woodland here in the UK and hand-packed by The Moss Fairy in Bristol. Soft, branching and faintly earthy, feather moss is about as close to an actual forest floor as you can fit on a shelf — ideal for terrariums, mossariums, bonsai and miniature woodland landscapes.

Each order contains a natural mix of feather-style living mosses, with soft branching growth and varying textures, shapes and shades of green. Because it's the real thing, every batch will be a little different.

CHOOSE YOUR MOSS SIZE

Small — A generous handful of mixed live moss. Ideal for a small terrarium, bonsai or adding a little moss to houseplants.

Large — Around twice the amount of our Small size. Great for larger terrariums, mossariums or several smaller projects.

Extra Large — Our biggest moss bundle, with around 50% more moss than the Large. Best for larger projects, vivariums or when you simply need plenty of moss.

As this is a natural product, the exact weight, mix and volume will vary slightly.

Add our mini mister to any size for £6 — handy for keeping your moss lightly misted without soaking it.

WHEN YOUR MOSS ARRIVES

Your live moss may be slightly compressed after its journey. Remove it from the packaging as soon as possible, gently fluff it back into shape and give it a light mist of water.

Keep your moss moist rather than wet, away from strong direct sunlight, and don't allow it to dry out completely.

Is this moss live or preserved?

This is real, living moss—not dried, dyed or preserved. Its natural colours, shapes and textures will vary slightly from one order to the next.

Can feather moss live in a closed terrarium?

Yes. Feather moss is well suited to humid, closed terrariums. Give it bright, indirect light and avoid leaving the terrarium permanently waterlogged. If condensation constantly obscures the glass, remove the lid briefly to release excess moisture.

How much moss do I need?

The Small size is a generous handful, suitable for a small terrarium, bonsai pot or adding moss around houseplants. Large contains approximately twice as much as Small and is better for a larger terrarium or several small projects. Choose Extra Large when you need broader coverage or are creating more than one arrangement.

What should I do when my moss arrives?

Open the package promptly and gently tease the moss back into shape. If it feels a little dry after travelling, give it a light mist with rainwater or distilled water. Keep it somewhere cool with bright, indirect light until you are ready to use it.
