THE MOSS FAIRY

The Moss Fairy is a small independent business in Bristol with a rather large fondness for moss.

We send carefully selected live moss, miniature terrarium kits and tiny green worlds to people all over the UK – from experienced terrarium makers to people building their very first mossarium.

Everything starts with the moss itself. We select and prepare our live moss by hand, looking for interesting shapes, textures and shades of green. Because it’s living and naturally grown, no two pieces – or orders – are ever quite the same.

SMALL WORLDS, MADE BY HAND

Our terrarium kits grew from the simple pleasure of making something small and living with your own hands.

We like uncomplicated materials, lovely fresh moss and the little details that give each miniature landscape some character. You’ll find cushion moss, feather moss, tiny glass vessels, useful terrarium tools and the occasional miniature frog amongst our workshop shelves.

More than 11,000 Etsy orders later, we’re still packing fresh moss and terrarium supplies here in Bristol.

Our moss is live - it has not been preserved or artificially coloured. That means it changes with the seasons, varies from piece to piece and occasionally behaves exactly as something gathered from the natural world should.

We think that’s part of its charm.
